Many videos have already been created to formally thank healthcare professionals, but none have truly shown people WHAT FOR. Our project is the firsto show the work of nurses and doctors in intensive care units at full intensity, helping the general public understand everything that goes into saving a human life.
The project was initiated by healthcare professionals themselves at the General University Hospital in Prague, who care for patients with coronavirus. In cooperation with filmmakers, they ensured that the result reflects the experiences of healthcare professionals while preserving both the seriousness and the lay perspective of the general public.
The project’s mission is to express a genuine thank you. Not a formal or superficial one, but a tribute to the everyday work of healthcare professionals and the values they demonstrate: expertise, endurance, resilience, compassion and composure, sometimes even putting their own personal interests completely aside for the sake of patient care.

The main idea of the project “Thanks to Czech paramedics” is to demonstrate the fact that medical staff is one of the most important elements in the fight against COVID-19. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, medical technicians and volunteers are putting their lives in the front line in the fight with this unpredictable disease. Unfortunately, the society is taking deployment of medical staff at the second coronavirus wave as granted in the Czech republic. With this project, we would like to say a big “THANK YOU” to all Czech medical workers involved in a fight with the coronavirus epidemic and to show them that we appreciate their work.
The main output of this project will be a 60-90 seconds short film
Secondary output will be 3-5 minutes long making of documentary, that will show background of this film and why it is important, that something like this was created. Documentary will also include interviews with medical workers and will show who is behind the project.
