Every woman and every child should have the right to benefit from a global strategy for protecting their health.
Achieving this goal requires innovative, evidence-based approaches to antenatal, childbirth and postnatal care. The project focuses on the National Pediatric Hospital in Phnom Penh and healthcare facilities in Kampong Chhnang Province.
The project aims to help reduce mortality among newborns and children under the age of five, as well as maternal mortality, by improving access to antenatal and postnatal care services and qualified healthcare professionals.
The care system is based on experience gained in the Czech Republic while taking into account local staffing and material resources, as well as the expertise of healthcare professionals. Examples of project activities include the introduction of screening examinations, educational workshops and the development of mobile software applications for educating healthcare professionals and the general public and for collecting hospital data.
