Prof. Richard Plavka, MD, CSc. is a leading Czech neonatologist and paediatrician who serves as Head of the Neonatology Department at the Department of Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and the General University Hospital in Prague (U Apolináře Maternity Hospital). He is one of the key figures who contributed to the establishment and development of modern neonatology in the Czech Republic, particularly in the field of care for extremely premature newborns.
