The education of healthcare professionals has been one of the main pillars of VITA ET FUTURA’s activities since the foundation was established in 1991. One of its original aims was to help Czech doctors, midwives and medical students gain access to modern knowledge and practices used in Western Europe. The foundation therefore supported the development of specialist educational programmes, the advancement of obstetric analgesia and anaesthesia and gynaecological laparoscopy, and enabled healthcare professionals to gain new theoretical knowledge and practical experience at medical institutions abroad.
This tradition continues today. The foundation supports undergraduate and postgraduate education and participates in organising professional courses, seminars and other educational activities in gynaecology, obstetrics and related medical disciplines. The education of doctors, midwives and other healthcare professionals remains one of the foundation’s core missions.
A prominent example is the U Apolináře Course in Obstetric Analgesia and Anaesthesia, which has been held for more than three decades. In March 2026, its 71st edition took placeThe course is designed for obstetricians, anaesthesiologists, neonatologists, paediatricians and midwives and focuses on the latest knowledge and practical aspects of maternal and newborn care. The VITA ET FUTURA Foundation is one of its organisers.
