1. Connecting Czech and Cambodian Healthcare Professionals<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

One of the fundamental principles of CZ PeriCare II is ong-term cooperation between healthcare professionals directly in clinical practice.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Czech specialists work in Cambodia alongside local healthcare professionals. Cambodian specialists, in turn, come to the Czech Republic for professional training and clinical placements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cooperation focuses primarily on obstetrics and perinatology, neonatology, midwifery, anaesthesiology, and other areas related to maternal and child care.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, six healthcare professionals from the National Pediatric Hospital (NPH) completed a three-week professional training programme in Prague. The programme covered obstetrics, neonatology and anaesthesiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally important is cooperation in the opposite direction. Czech expert teams have worked directly in Cambodia alongside their local colleagues, learning about clinical and organisational procedures on site. According to the project evaluation, these activities helped strengthen the professional competencies of local staff and laid the foundation for further long-term cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Training Future Trainers<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We do not want to educate individuals alone. We want to help build a sustainable system.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Long-term change cannot depend solely on the presence of Czech experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the project is gradually developing a train-the-trainer approach,<\/strong> preparing selected Cambodian healthcare professionals to independently train their colleagues in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants in professional training placements are therefore selected not only on the basis of their expertise. An equally important criterion is their ability to share the knowledge and skills they have acquired with their colleagues upon returning home and to contribute to a system of continuous professional education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim is to gradually create a local group of expert trainers<\/strong>, which will not depend on the long-term presence of the Czech team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Czech Support Continues Remotely<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Online Mentoring Connects Experts Throughout the Year<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The exchange of knowledge and experience does not end when Czech specialists leave Cambodia or when Cambodian healthcare professionals return home from Prague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project uses online expert mentoring<\/strong>enabling healthcare professionals to consult specific clinical and technical issues and continue their professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first half of 2026 alone, 5 of the 12 planned online expert training sessions<\/strong>took place. Two focused on neonatology and three on biomedical engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, education is evolving from individual training sessions into a continuous process of professional collaboration.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Improve Healthcare, We Need to Understand What Is Really Happening<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

An important part of CZ PeriCare II is the development of the Cambodia Maternity Hub (CMH),<\/strong> a system for the electronic collection and evaluation of maternal and child healthcare data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital records provide information needed to monitor the quality of healthcare services and support their future planning and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system also helps standardise medical records, keep patient information up to date, and provide graphical analysis of healthcare data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

52 Healthcare Centres<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, active collection of perinatal data was launched in all 52 healthcare centres in Kampong Chhnang Province.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 1,200 Pregnant Women<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As of 30 June 2026, the system contained records for approximately 1,200 pregnant women<\/strong> from across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The growing database provides a foundation for monitoring pregnancies, evaluating perinatal indicators, and planning measures to improve the quality of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Digital Tools<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Technology Should Support Healthcare Professionals and Women<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

CZ PeriCare II is gradually creating a digital environment that connects healthcare data collection, professional education, and information related to the care of pregnant women and mothers.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project includes platforms such as CAMBOF.com and CAMBOMomCare.com,<\/strong> as well as mobile solutions used within the project. These digital tools are continuously maintained, secured, and updated both technically and in terms of content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its awareness and educational activities, the project also develops materials for the public and healthcare professionals. In 2026, these included videos supporting the use of the CambodiaMomCare application by pregnant women, as well as instructional videos for healthcare professionals working with electronic perinatal data collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Improving Clinical Procedures<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Technology Alone Is Not Enough<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The quality of healthcare is not determined by hospital equipment alone. The way healthcare teams work is equally important.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CZ PeriCare II therefore supports the optimisation of clinical and organisational processes at the National Pediatric Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Czech and Cambodian experts work together to develop recommended procedures and workflows in the fields of obstetrics, perinatology, neonatology, midwifery, paediatric nursing, anaesthesiology, and biomedical engineering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completed SOPs and workflows are made available to healthcare professionals through the CamboF.com educational platform, in both English and Khmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, the project not only provides knowledge but also helps translate it into everyday clinical practice.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
